Can a Malayalam speaking person learn Tamil just by watching movies (or vice versa) as I know Tamil movies are widely watched across Kerela. Only asking this to understand how related the two languages still are. We, for example, learn Hindi in Nepal mostly from just watching movies, as both Hindi and Nepali come from the same root. Therefore, curious to know how similar these two languages still are.
